Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a highly effective modality that helps the body’s natural ability to heal wounds and prevent possible limb loss. Using oxygen under increased pressure to speed healing and repair tissue damage due to ischemia, hyperbaric therapy has a proven track record in the healing of chronic wounds as well as a host of other medical conditions (including radiation damage), and has been shown to reduce the amputation rate of patients with diabetic wounds.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be used to treat:
- Diabetic Wounds of the Lower Extremity
- Chronic Osteomyelitis
- Radiation Damage (Soft Tissue, Bone, Cystitis and Proctitis)
- Failing or Compromised Skin Grafts or Flaps
- Crush Injuries and Suturing of Severed Limbs
- Post-operative Infected Wounds
- Slow or Non-healing Surgical Wounds
- Chronic Refractory Osteomyelitis
- Acute Peripheral Arterial Insufficiency
- Progressive Necrotizing Infections
